Outside that? Call anyway. If we cannot help we will usually know who can.
What to have ready when you call
None of this is required, but it turns a ten-minute call into a three-minute one and makes the first visit far more useful.
- Roughly when the water shows up — during rain, after, or year-round
- Which wall, or whether it arrives along the whole floor edge
- Whether there is a sump pump, and if it runs
- Age of the house and whether the foundation is block, poured or stone
- Anything already tried — sealant, a dehumidifier, regrading
- Photos on your phone, if you have them
No deposit, ever, at the inspection. If somebody asks you to sign and pay on the first visit, that is a sales call, not an inspection. Ours ends with a written page and nothing else.
