What this actually costs in New Jersey
Published ranges, not a lead-capture form. These are the numbers our own estimates land in, and what pushes a job to the top or bottom of each band.
| Work | Typical range | What moves the number |
|---|---|---|
| Downspout extension or grading correction | $300 – $1,200 | Often the entire fix |
| Sump pump replacement, existing pit | $700 – $1,600 | Pump grade and switch type |
| New pit cut into slab, pump and discharge | $1,800 – $3,500 | Slab thickness, discharge run |
| Battery backup system | $900 – $2,400 | Single vs dual battery bank |
| Crack injection, per crack | $400 – $900 | Depth and whether it is structural |
| Interior perimeter drain, per linear foot | $65 – $130 | Access, obstacles, wall type |
| Crawl space vapour barrier | $2,000 – $6,000 | Square footage and headroom |
| Whole-basement dehumidification | $1,600 – $3,200 | Capacity and drain routing |
Try the cheap things first. A meaningful share of the calls we take are solved by the first row of that table. If your leak follows heavy rain and sits under one roof valley, spend an afternoon on the downspouts before you spend anything with us.
What makes a quote go up
- Finished walls that have to come down and go back
- Stone or rubble foundations instead of block
- Low crawl space headroom — everything takes twice as long
- No exterior access for equipment
- Long discharge runs to reach a safe outlet
- Structural movement that needs engineering sign-off
What our estimate includes
One page, one number: scope, materials, crew size, expected duration, warranty terms and what is explicitly excluded. The price does not change unless you change the scope in writing. No deposit is taken at the inspection.
Pricing questions
Why won't you quote a price over the phone?
Because the honest answer depends on where the water enters, and nobody can see that down a phone line. What we can do on the phone is tell you which of the ranges above you are probably in, and that is usually enough to decide whether to book the inspection.
Is the cheapest quote ever the right one?
Sometimes, genuinely. If one company found a disconnected downspout and the other two quoted full perimeter systems, the cheap quote is the one that looked properly. What should worry you is a cheap quote for the same scope as an expensive one — something is being left out, usually the discharge line or the warranty.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, including 0% terms on qualifying jobs. It is arranged through a third-party lender, not us, and the paperwork happens after you have the written estimate — never as part of the sales conversation.
Does waterproofing add value when I sell?
It removes a deduction rather than adding a premium. A documented dry basement with a transferable warranty stops a buyer's inspector from writing a line that costs you five figures at negotiation. Keep the paperwork.
